GDT’s youth requested to pioneer in performing assigned tasks

Over the past five years, leaders at all levels in the GDT have promoted their leadership and created favorable conditions for its youths. Meanwhile, Youth Union work and youth movements in the whole unit have recorded progressive achievements, contributing to accomplishing all political tasks of the unit.

In addition, 1,884 Youth Union members have been admitted to the Party. The Youth Union Organization has also closely worked with local Youth Union chapters, contributing to building the civilian-military solidarity. Reportedly, over the past five years, the unit's Youth Union chapter has sent over 1,800 troops to help more than 6,000 students, donated 3,200 blood units, and supported local people in the areas where they are stationed.

Especially, the creative youth movement in the general department has been widely implemented and achieved good results. In the past five years, the general department's youths have sent 401 works to the Military Creative Youth Award, of which 162 have won prizes.

On behalf of the GDT's Chain-of-Command, General Hung acknowledged and hailed the youth's achievements over the past five years.

He also requested political organs and Youth Union organizations of its affiliated units to continue strictly implementing guidelines, resolutions, and directives of higher levels on youth work in the current context. After the congress, they need to concretize the action program of the general department's youth for the 2022-2027 period. Besides, relevant agencies should also raise youths' responsibility in observing military discipline and regulations, and take the lead in learning foreign languages and applying science and technology to work, to name but a few.

The congress elected six official delegates and an alternate delegate to attend the tenth Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the whole military (2022-2027).
