The cooperation is expected to take effect at the beginning of the school year 2022 – 2023.

Hanoi University (HANU) has discussed many educational cooperation opportunities with Italy's Ferrara University (Unife) to improve training quality for its students, according to HANU's Rector Nguyen Van Trao.

"The two universities will jointly apply to the KA107 Erasmus+ program for the exchange of students from the same majors. Unife also sends graduates to HANU to practice teaching Italian as a foreign language," Trao said after he finished his four-day working visit to Italy’s educational institution on May 20.

He added that the two sides agreed to sign many cooperation agreements on education and training, which are expected to take effect at the beginning of the school year 2022 – 2023.

As chief national coordinator of the project Monitoring Trends In Vietnamese graduates' Employment (MOTIVE), co-funded by Eramus+ program of the European Union, Trao appreciates the project’s goal of helping higher education institutions improve their capacity to conduct job surveys for graduates.

On the basis of collected data, higher educational institutions annually review training programs, accredit the quality, assess the degree to which graduates meet the requirements of the labor market. As such, they adjust and build training programs that really meet employer expectations and skill requirements.

The project members include FH Joaneum, University of Applied Sciences (Austria); University of Barcelona (Spain); International Consulting and Mobility Agency, INCOMA (Spain); Evaluation and Evaluation Organization, ANECA (Spain).

Trao called on the project’s member schools participating in the project to keep cooperating more effectively and fulfill their commitments to the goals in the next phase of the project.

During the visit, Trao also attended a workshop themed "Graduates and the labor market" in Italy's city of Bologn.

The workshop was held within the framework of the project MOTIVE – Monitoring employment trends of graduates in Vietnam with the participation of more than 50 delegates from European and Vietnamese universities, project partners and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

As an active member of the project, Dr. Mac Quoc Anh, vice president of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Hanoisme) highly valued the project’s goal of opening up opportunities for business connections to help higher education institutions improve their ability to support graduates in their job search.
