Vietnamese Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on Wednesday held talks with United States President Donald Trump, who is in Hanoi for the second U.S.-North Korea Summit.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in the Vietnamese capital at 11:00 am.
President Trump expressed his joy that the significant U.S.-North Korea Summit takes place in Vietnam.
General Secretary Trong affirmed that Vietnam had exerted its best efforts to provide the most favorable conditions for a successful summit.

The two leaders witnessed Vietnamese carriers VietJet and Bamboo Airways sign deals with Boeing Co to buy 110 planes worth more than $15 billion.
Vietjet signed firm order to buy 100 new Boeing 737 Max planes worth $12.7 billion at list price, whereas Bamboo Airways inked a deal to purchase ten planes from the U.S. planemaker.

President Trump arrived at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport on late Tuesday and was welcomed by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, and several other high-ranking officials.
This is the second time the U.S. president has come to Vietnam.
In November 2017, he paid an official visit to Vietnam and attended the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders' Meeting in the central coastal city of Da Nang.
