STF donates scholarships to Pham Phu Thu High School By Quang Tuan Pham Phu Thu High School students receive STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarships on February 11 – PHOTO: QUANG TUAN HCMC – The Saigon Times Foundation (STF) under the Saigon Times Group presented 40 STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarships worth VND200 million in total to needy students of Pham Phu Thu High School in Quang Nam Province on February 11. The event was attended by Novaland Group representative Nguyen Thanh Bich Thuy and co-founders of the STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarships program including former State President Truong Tan Sang, former Party secretary of Hoi An City Nguyen Su, and chairman of Phuoc Thinh Textile Investment JSC Nguyen Thanh Sang. Since it was founded in January 2017, the STF-Pham Phu Thu scholarships program has granted 1,353 scholarships worth more than VND3.7 billion to students across the country. The program is designed to support students with poor family backgrounds but outstanding academic performance and encourage them to learn from Pham Phu Thu, a well-known scholar who was born in Quang Nam Province and made great contributions to the country during his life spanning much of the 19th century. STF is a non-profit set up by the Saigon Times Group and its readers and partners in February 2002 to support education and training in Vietnam.
