The event, held jointly by the Overseas Vietnamese Association in France, the Vietnamese Cultural Centre and ten organisations in France, was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to France Nguyen Thiep as well as Ambassadors from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, alongside the OVs in the host country. Visitors at the festival had a chance to join an ancient Tet market, enjoy art performances and delicious traditional food, and participate in folk games. The event offered an opportunity for Vietnamese people in France to gather and share their joint love towards their homeland and introduce the unique cultural identities of Vietnam to French and international friends. The event was also part of the activities to mark the 100th anniversary of the OVs movement in France (1919). Following the patriotic movement, of which President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundations, the OVs community in France has always contributed to their homeland’s independence and development over the past 100 years. Generations of the OVs in France have also joined hands to build a prosperous and developed community to integrate into the host country’s society. Vietnamese children in France are performing songs about Tet.
