In 2001, the open investment environment in Vietnam with attractive preferences for foreign businesses encouraged the company to invest in building its manufacturing facility in Dong Nai Province’s Amata Industrial Park. Its initial purpose was to support Unilever Vietnam with high-quality offset folding cartons and packaging solutions.
In 2003, Starprint transferred their children’s comics production line and know-how from Thailand to Vietnam, marking the expansion of its operation in the Vietnamese market. Its first products included PS and Colgate toothpaste boxes; the company has also applied advanced techniques to create more premium packaging products, such as colored pencil cases for children (Art Kids, Art Cases) and rigid boxes for remarkable brands in the global market. Its operation has been certified as meeting international standards, such as ISO 9000, FSC, BRC, ISO 14001, 18001, GMI, ICTP and BSCI. Starprint Vietnam has become the partner of major groups, such as Unilever Vietnam, Colgate, Masan Group, Diageo and Nissin.
Its ability to meet customer demand has enabled Starprint Vietnam to build its good reputation in the market and be recognized as a leading printing company in Vietnam.
Strengthening position through improvements
Currently, Starprint Vietnam JSC has 1,000 workers operating a 29,000sq.m factory with modern equipment. The company is dynamic and continuously improves, invests in the state of the art equipment, systems and materials to enhance its operation and create products meeting customer requirements.
At Starprint Vietnam, the graphic design division is responsible for processing image files according to customer requirements and adaptable to press requirements. Currently, the company is equipped with a computer-to-plate (CTP) system that replaces the traditional computer-to-film printing technology. Apart from KBA Rapida 105 – the most modern seven-color printer manufactured in Germany, which is capable to print 16,000 sheets per hour, the company is also equipped with many other branded printers, such as Roland and Komori, to serve various customer requirements.
