To ensure joint and concerted action, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Partnership, and the German Development Cooperation Agency GIZ co-organised an international workshop in Hanoi on November 7th to coordinate the effective use of resources for measures aiming at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to prepare for the impacts of climate change. In great success, participants concluded to initiate an NDC Implementation Platform, for future results-oriented dialogues between development partners and line ministries on targeted support to accelerate Plan for Implementation of the Paris Agreement (PIPA) implementation. “This event was an impressive demonstration of two factors that are key to achieving our common goal under the Paris Agreement: first, substantial resources can be raised for the cause, and second, coordinated course of action is possible”, said Mr. Pham Van Tan – Vice Head of the Department for Climate Change under MONRE.
