They will work with relevant agencies to integrate their bilateral cooperative activities into an overall plan for the celebration of the two countries’ diplomatic ties next year. At an earlier meeting with Chairman of the Chinese National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Li Zhanshu, the VFF President called on the two sides to step up guidance for the strict implementation of agreements and common perceptions of their senior leaders, especially those concerning sea-related issues. A score of measures should be taken to beef up bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, security, national defence and people-to-people exchange, he said. Li Zhanshu highlighted the VFF leader’s visit as a contribution to forging the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and states as well as between the VFF and the Chinese People’s PCC, adding that stronger cooperation between the VFF and the Chinese People’s PCC will help propel the ties between the two countries forward. The NPC Chairman affirmed the NPC’s readiness to strengthen partnership and share experience with the Vietnamese National Assembly and the VFF. He also conveyed an invitation to visit China from Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Phu Trong.
