The delegation was headed by L.I. Kalashnikov, member of the CPRF’s Presidium, Secretary of its Central Committee, and President of the State of Duma’s Friendship Parliamentarian Group with Vietnam. At the meeting, Binh affirmed the Vietnamese Party and State’s high regards for the consolidation of its time-honoured friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia. He also affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of great importance to its ties with the CPRF and hails its proposals on economic cooperation to enhance economics, trade, and investment between the two countries. Kalashnikov told his host that the aim of his delegation’s visit is to look for ways to advance bilateral affiliation, especially in finance and banking. At an earlier meeting on November 6 with Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi’s Party Committee, both sides compared notes on cooperation between Hanoi and Moscow, and a plan to implement the Moscow Centre project in the Vietnamese capital city in the years to come. The Russian delegation also held talks with Hoang Binh Quan, member of the CPV Central Committee and head of its Commission for External Relations on measures to foster ties between the two parties.
