The national flag carrier uses Airbus A321 aircraft meeting the four-star service standards for the new Danang-Osaka service, with seven weekly flights. The flights are scheduled to take off at 0:22 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. local time from Danang City and Osaka City, respectively, each day. Members of VNA’s Golden Lotus program will be offered some 2,000 bonus miles when buying business-class tickets and nearly 1,000-1,500 bonus miles for economy-class tickets on Danang-Osaka flights until January 31, 2019, on the occasion of the inauguration. The new air route is intended to give customers more flying options and convenience in the context of rising travel demand. The number of Japanese arrivals in the central coastal city of Danang has reportedly surged 18-fold from 2011 to 2017. With the new air service, Vietnam Airlines has taken its total Danang-Japan air links to 11, maintaining its position as the largest airline to transport passengers on a direct air route between Vietnam and Japan.
