NA Chair gets highest vote of confidence By Thuy Dung Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong cast their ballots in a vote of confidence this morning, October 25 – PHOTO: VNA HANOI – Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan today, October 25, received the highest vote of confidence, followed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, among 48 high-ranking officials. During the ongoing sixth sitting of the NA in Hanoi City this morning, Head of the NA Committee for Deputy Affairs Tran Van Tuy presented a summary report on group discussions on the vote of confidence for 48 officials elected and approved by the legislature. Officials in office for less than nine months, including Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung, were excluded from the vote. Deputies later cast their ballots. The NA this afternoon adopted a resolution on the outcome of the confidence vote, with 95.67% approval. NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan received “high confidence” votes from 90.1% of voters and “confidence” votes from 7.01%. Meanwhile, 81.03% of deputies gave Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc high confidence votes and 14.02% cast confidence votes for him. Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh earned a “high confidence” rating in 66.6% of votes and “confidence” from 30.1% of votes.
