The event drew more than 150 students from three Mekong Delta provinces of Vinh Long, Tien Giang and Hau Giang. The final test included three sections namely programming in Scratch, robot car race, and hackathon. The “Enabling Boat” project aims to support disadvantaged youth in the Mekong Delta to get access to computer science and code literacy. Through the project, Microsoft Vietnam and TDF expect to provide computer skills and code literacy training courses for 35,000 students, of which 10,000 students are trained with programming languages Scratch and Kodu. Besides, more than 200 local teachers will be engaged in Training of Trainers and participate in training workshops that aim to share experience in teaching methods of computer programming. The project also creates an environment for rural students to develop critical thinking, logic skills, creativity, and problem solving skills, and motivates them to build their future with technology.
