(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang practiced a ploughing ritual in Doi Son commune, Ha Nam province on Friday, hoping for a bumper rice harvest, favorable weather, and national prosperity. Addressing the festival, the President Quang said the ploughing festival, which beautifies Vietnam’s communal cultural practices, has been recognized as national intangible cultural heritage. He stressed the need to preserve traditional essence and encourage the people to develop agriculture in line with the Resolution of the 7th plenary meeting of the 10th Party Committee on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. The President called for efforts to realize the policies of the Party and State on high-quality agricultural production and building new style rural areas. The same day, President Tran Dai Quang burnt incense and laid wreaths to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs at a monument in Ha Nam province. He also visited an assembly line of Hoi Vu Company, which specializes in vegetable production for exports.
