During the meeting, Dr Khuong affirmed the importance of Vietnam – Japan strategic partnership as well as VCCI’s cooperation with chambers of commerce, businesses, and the government of Gunma Prefecture. He said since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1973, their bilateral cooperation has been constantly fostered. Economically, the strong growth of ODA and FDI flows from Japan to Vietnam in recent years has not only opened up many opportunities but also posed numerous challenges to business cooperation. For his part, Mr Soga Takayuki introduced Gunma Prefecture as an industrial production centre in Japan. Although its population size ranks 18th out of 47 prefectures in Japan, Gunma’s industrial production secures fifth place. The prefecture is famous for transport vehicle manufacturing, processing, and electronic equipment production. Currently, Gunma businesses are very interested in Vietnam, especially after it signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). The meeting ended with a remarkable success in a friendly atmosphere of friendship and cooperation. Both sides expressed their trust in cooperation development between Gunma Prefecture in particular and Japan in general with Vietnam. Le Sang more news
