(Cinet) – The MOCST has had Document No.3901/QĐ-BVHTTDL on establishing the Disabled Sports of Vietnam to attend ASEAN ParaGames 6 in Indonesia. Currently, athletes are attending a one – month training course starting from November 10th in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. As scheduled, right after the end of the 6th ASEAN Paragames, the best athletes in swimming, track and field, and weight – lifting will be gathered to prepare for the Paralympic London 2012. Accordingly, Vietnam sports led by Mr.Vũ Thế Việt, vice-president and general secretary of Vietnam Paralympic Association and 05 vice-head of the team. Vietnam will send a delegation of 160 members to the Southeast Asian ParaGames in Indonesia on December 12th -20th. The athletes compete in track-and-field, badminton, weightlifting, swimming, table tennis, chess and tennis. As estimated, the recruitment of Vietnam sports will take place on December 03, 2011 in HCMMuseum and is directly broadcasted on VTV3 channel of Vietnam Television. According to Mr Vu The Phiet, Vice President cum Secretary General of the Vietnam Paralympics Association, the similar weather between Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City will mean favorable conditions for Vietnamese athletes. At the previous event in 2009, Vietnam pocketed 73 golds, 57 silvers and 45 bronze medals to finish third behind Thailand and the host Malaysia.
