Money-Making Blog Promotion Formula

Point number 1 is, do not promote your own products or affiliate links in your blog post content. This is not open to negotiation. Visitors come to your blog hoping for help and searching for valuable instruction, ideas, tactics, and strategies from your expertise. If you push a big red digital “Buy!” button in their face, you’ll scare them. They’ll click to another page and ultimately spend their money with your competition.

So when you write a blog article, focus on entertaining and educating and enlightening your target market, so they’ll start a favorable buzz about you. Share software and other tools (free) and tips from your experience that’ll make their personal profit system easier. Build relationships and build trust.

Meanwhile, decide how you’ll monetize your blog. Many bloggers sell ad space, or they run Adsense ads, or they promote affiliate products. How profitable will that be for you? Depends on your metrics, so you must have a good stats program to know how many in your target audience are coming every day, how many are new visitors, what page they enter on, which pages they view most, how long they stay, how many click away immediately, whether they came from a link on another site or a bookmark or a web search, the exact search term they entered to find your blog, etc., etc., etc. It may sound like a lot, but professionals track all these productivity factors. Then, as you test changes to your website, pay attention to how your statistics change, for better or worse. This is the road to optimizing the value of the traffic coming to your website.

Finally, as you get to understand your prospects better by tracking their activities on your blog, you can advertise to bring more potential buyers into your community. Participate in niche forums, build a following on social bookmarking websites, submit your articles to online directories … just a few of the ways you can attract new traffic to your blog and repeat the money-making profit cycle.
