Singers, musicians, show-makers were honoured on the evening of April 24 at the Hanoi Opera Housed at the third Devotion Awards ceremony hosted by The thao & Van hoa (Sports and Culture) Newspaper and leading event-maker Le Bros. With great contributions and progress in performance, voice and dance, singer Ho Ngoc Ha won an award for female singer of the year while Dam Vinh Hung for male singer of the year. The “Colourful Cubes” (Nhung o mau lap phuong) album, a strange, difficult-to-hear album with New Age style, netted singer Tung Duong an award for album of the year. However, listeners will find it more interesting as they gradually explore secrecy hidden in the words and melodies. Musician Vo Thien Thanh, whose works are creative and high quality, was honoured as the musician of the year. As a new TV programme, Vietnam Idol has received both great applause and criticism. However, it was a professional programme and a salient event in the year 2007. Therefore, it was named the programme of the year.
